Extension Lecture on National Space Day organized by Department of Physics M. M. Modi College, Patiala

An extension lecture on the topic “From Big Bang to Bharat: The Cosmic Evolution and India’s Ascent in Space Exploration” was organized by the Department of Physics, M.M. Modi College, Patiala. This day is dedicated to the incredible achievements of India in space exploration led by National Space Research Organization (ISRO). The lecture was delivered by Dr. Shubhchintak, Ramanujan Fellow, Department of Physics, Punjabi University, Patiala
College Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal congratulated the Department of Physics for organizing this lecture and said that this day is not just a celebration of past space successes but also a moment to inspire future generations, highlighting the importance of Space Science and technology in shaping our world.
In this lecture Dr. Shubhchintak, Ramanujun Fellow, Punjabi University, Patiala explored the origin and evolution of our universe. He discussed how our ancient wisdom and scientific explorations goes hands in hands in the emerging areas of Space science. With various presentations he beautifully explained the Cosmology and formation of stars, the fundamentals of Astronomy and Astrophysics and the future of Space science.
Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Dean Physical Sciences and Head of Chemistry Department told that this lecture is dedicated to mark the National Space Day as declared by Government of India for historical importance of the day when our spaceship Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on South pole of moon.
The speaker was formally introduced by Dr. Pooja, Department of Physics.
Dr. Kavita, Head, Department of Physics motivated the students to develop scientific temperament and to engage with latest discoveries, innovation and research in the field of Physics. She remarked that we are lucky to witness the moment of success of Chandrayaan-III.
After the lecture there was an interactive session with the science students.
The stage was conducted by Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Department of Physics and the vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Kavita.
Dr. Palvinder Kaur, Dr. Kanandeep and other faculty members also contributed to make this event a success. Dr. Sumeet Kumar, Flying Officer and Mr. Ajay Gupta were also present on the occasion. About 100 students of BSc (Non-Medical and Computer Science) and Mass Media students attended the event.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਭੌਤਿਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅੱਜ “ਬਿਗ ਬੈਂਗ ਤੋਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਤੱਕ: ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮੰਡੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਾੜ ਖੋਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਅਦਭੁੱਤ ਸਫਲਤਾ” ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ‘ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਐਕਸਟੈਨਸ਼ਨ ਲੈਕਚਰ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪੁਲਾੜ ਖੋਜ ਸੰਗਠਨ (ਇਸਰੋ) ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਅਧੀਨ ਪੁਲਾੜ ਖੋਜ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਲੈਕਚਰ ਡਾ. ਸ਼ੁਭਚਿੰਤਕ, ਰਾਮਾਨੁਜੁਨ ਫੈਲੋ, ਭੌਤਿਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਲੈਕਚਰ ਦੇ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਲਈ ਭੌਤਿਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਦਿਨ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਿਛਲੀਆਂ ਪੁਲਾੜ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਸ਼ਨ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਸਗੋਂ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਰੀਆ ਵੀ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਦਿਨ ਅਜੋਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗ੍ਹੇ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਚਾਲਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਲਾੜ- ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਲੈਕਚਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਸ਼ੁਭਚਿੰਤਕ, ਰਾਮਾਨੁਜੁਨ ਫੈਲੋ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮੰਡ ਦੀ ਉਤਪਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਸਾਡੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਸੱਭਿਅਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਖੋਜਾਂ ਪੁਲਾੜ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੇਂ ਰਾਸਤੇ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਰਾਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮੰਡ, ਪੁਲਾੜ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ, ਤਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ, ਖੂਗੋਲ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਭੌਤਿਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਧਾਰਨਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਾੜ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਡਾ: ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡੀਨ, ਭੌਤਿਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਖੀ, ਕੈਮਿਸਟਰੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਲੈਕਚਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਐਲਾਨੇ ਗਏ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪੁਲਾੜ ਦਿਵਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਸਾਡਾ ਪੁਲਾੜ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਚੰਦਰਯਾਨ-3 ਚੰਦਰਮਾ ਦੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਧਰੁਵ ‘ਤੇ ਸਫਲਤਾਪੂਰਵਕ ਉਤਰਿਆ ਸੀ। .
ਡਾ: ਕਵਿਤਾ, ਮੁਖੀ, ਭੌਤਿਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਅਤੇ ਜਗਿਆਸਾ-ਮੁਖੀ ਆਦਤਾਂ ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਭੌਤਿਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੀਨਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ, ਨਵੇ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਜਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਖੁਸ਼ਕਿਸਮਤ ਹਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਚੰਦਰਯਾਨ–3 ਦੀ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਗਵਾਹ ਬਣੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਦੀ ਰਸਮੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਭੌਤਿਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਡਾ: ਪੂਜਾ ਨੇ ਕਰਵਾਈ।
ਇਸ ਲੈਕਚਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਵਾਲ-ਜਵਾਬ ਦਾ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਾਈਸ-ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਸਵੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਵਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਮੈਂਟੋ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਮੰਚ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਡਾ: ਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਭੌਤਿਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਵਿਭਾਗ-ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਕਵਿਤਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਲੈਕਚਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ.ਕਨਨਦੀਪ ਤੇ ਡਾ. ਪਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ, ਭੌਤਿਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਰਿਹਾ।ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੀ.ਐੱਸ.ਸੀ (ਨਾਨ-ਮੈਡੀਕਲ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ) ਅਤੇ ਮਾਸ-ਮੀਡੀਆ ਦੇ ਲੱਗਭੱਗ 100 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ। ਫਲਾਇੰਗ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਡਾ. ਸੁਮੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਅਜੇ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
